Bathroom jobs

What we do, job by job

Each job comes with a written plan. We work on plumbing and the wall behind it, and we say so when something else is the real problem.

A wall-hung white toilet with a flush plate in a white-tiled bathroom

Comfort-height toilets

A seat 17 to 19 inches from the floor takes less effort to sit on and stand up from. We reset or replace the toilet, and we check the flange and the floor under it before the new one goes down.

  • Taller bowls and wall-hung options

  • Water supply and shutoff replaced if they are worn

  • Old toilet hauled away

A black-tiled walk-in shower with no curb, a rain shower head and a towel on a hook

Walk-in showers

We build a shower with a low or no curb, a floor that slopes to a drain and a door or curtain that doesn't trap a walker. A bench can be built in.

  • Low-threshold or curbless

  • Bench or fold-down seat

  • Non-slip tile or wall panels

A shower wall with a slide rail, a hand shower and a black grab bar on beige stone tile

Grab-bar blocking

We open the wall, fasten solid wood between the studs, close the wall and fit the bar at the height and angle your therapist marks. Blocking stays in the wall, so a bar can be added later.

  • Bars near the toilet, in the tub and at the door

  • Each bar checked by hand

  • Wall repair and tile touch-up listed on the plan

Hand showers and slide bars

A hand shower on a rail lets you sit down to wash and lets a helper rinse you. The rail goes on blocking, like a grab bar.

  • Hose long enough for a bench

  • Rail height set to the user

Lever faucets and steady valves

Lever handles at the sink and tub take less grip. A pressure-balancing valve keeps the shower from turning hot or cold when water is used elsewhere in the house.

  • Lever handles in your finish

  • Shower valve swapped behind the wall when needed

A walk-in shower with a built-in wooden bench and a lit niche

Tub-to-shower conversions

We take out the tub and build a low-entry shower in the same space. The job is bigger than a toilet or a bar, and the plan says how many days the plumbing and the tile take.

  • Usually the same alcove

  • Drain moved only if needed

  • Tile or solid wall panels

Good to know

What we don't do

Do you widen doorways or change floors?

No. Those are carpentry and flooring jobs. If a doorway is what keeps a walker out of the bathroom, we tell you at the visit and help you find someone who does that work.

Do you do electrical work, like heated floors or lights?

No. We work on plumbing and on the wall behind it. We can leave the wall open for an electrician you choose.

Do you fix burst pipes or backed-up drains?

No. We are a planned-work firm and answer on weekdays. For a leak that is running now, call an emergency plumber near you.
