Visit plan
What happens at each step
A safe bathroom starts with looking at how you use the one you have.
- 01
Step 1: The visit
Charlene comes to the house, and Moira joins when you or a family member would like a therapist's view. We watch how you get in and out of the tub, how you sit on the toilet and what you hold on to. Then we measure the room and open nothing.
About an hour
Bring the person who uses the bathroom
Photos of the room help if the visit is for a parent far away
- 02
Step 2: The plan
Within a few days you get one written plan: the fixtures, the height of each bar, where the blocking goes, the days the job takes, the price, and what the price leaves out. Moira reads it too if you want her to.
Written price before any work
Questions by phone or text
A no is a fine answer
- 03
Step 3: The install
We order the fixtures first. On the day, Eugene opens the wall and adds blocking, then the plumbing and the bars go in. We cover the floors and the hallway, and we walk you through everything at the end.
Most small jobs finish in one day
A shower conversion takes longer; the plan says how long
Every bar checked by hand before we leave
Before the visit
What to have ready
None of this is required. It makes the visit shorter.
The person who uses the room
The visit is about how they move. If they can't be there, a family member and a few photos are enough to start.
A note from a therapist or doctor
If you already have a recommendation for grab bars or a seat, bring it. We build the plan around it.
Clear access to the bathroom
We need to reach the tub, the toilet and the wall behind them. You don't need to move furniture or take anything down.
Where the main shutoff is
If you know, tell us. If you don't, we will find it and show you, so you know for next time.
